This recent series of works focuses primarily on landscapes and the vast variation of their meaning for Tito. Although he has been painting landscapes for quite a while now, he continues to reflect and reinvent them with each series. As well as playing a significant part in his reflections on religion and its influences on society, he also reminisces on his travels and the scenes he observes when travelling from one city to another by train. The stars also have a profound significance for Tito, as he puts it: “My grandma used to tell me stories about people turning into stars after they die. I started exploring that and whether these people have been able to fulfil their dreams. I thought that many did not and that’s why they fall back.”

In this piece, Stanley depicts a figure gazing into a vast horizon with oil on canvas, using greens and yellows with a soft application which evokes a dreamlike atmosphere. Inspired by his grandmother’s tale of people becoming stars after death, he explores the concept of those stars falling back to Earth.
