Feleksan crafted this work by blowing flat discs, enriched with textured granules for depth before delicately placing them in a fusing kiln, using a mould inspired by her experimentation with textiles. The resulting forms are then cold-worked to shape the sculpture vessel. The pieces offer versatility, as some can be displayed either horizontally or vertically, adapting to various settings and perspectives.
The genesis of this sculpture emerged during the artist’s time in the Mediterranean. Hours spent on a sailboat afforded her the chance to observe the intricate structures and fluid movements of waves. Each hour of the day bestowed unique reflections upon these waves, as the colors of the horizon melded into the sea, crafting an ever-changing kaleidoscope of hues.
